Organisational beliefs, core values and principles;

DADO is committed to uphold and abides by the following fundamental beliefs and values in pursuance of her endeavours for the attainment of its vision and missions:

DADO beliefs that:

  • The rural impoverished marginalized agro-pastoralists communities have the capacity to reverse their situation if given the opportunity to work together/ in a participatory manner.
  • Together we can develop local capacities, strengthen governance systems, building community resilience capabilities and value addition will make agro-pastoral livelihood economically viable.
  • The marginalized agro-pastoralists can become productive if empowered with knowledge, including natural resources rights to mitigate climate change effects.

DADO’s Core Values:

  • Fairness, equity and justice: Ensuring that everyone, regardless of sex, age, race, color, class and religion, has equal opportunity for expression and for using their potential.

  • Solidarity: Connecting with poor and excluded people. We try to do everything within our means and in the interests of the poor, excluded and marginalized.
  • Humility: Recognizing that we are part of a bigger fight against poverty and requiring our presentation and behavior to be modest.
  • Respect for the rights of men, women and children: We believe in deliberately strengthening the capacity of women to meet their basic needs and to improve on their position and have a strong commitment to the rights of children [Health, Education etc…].
  • Learning: We are open to learning from our work and the works of others especially those that are implementing projects and Programmes with Human Rights Base Approach to Development.
  • Independence: As an organization we remain independent of any religious, party-politics or other partisan affiliation.
